Published October 26, 2026. Renters type “condos for rent near me” when walkable inventory matters more than a city-wide average. In addition, every number below comes from the live condo feed behind this site, compiled by Peter Sagos into the October 14 condo market report.
The October 14 report counted 316 condo rentals across the Ottawa feed. The median rent reads $2,300 per month, with a middle band of $2,100 to $2,650. Specifically, the size brackets split as: studios, 14 listings at a $1,750 median; one-bedrooms, 128 listings at $2,150; two-bedrooms, 160 listings at $2,450; and 13 three-bedroom listings at $2,750.
Across all rental property types in the city, the October rental market report on Rent613 counted 1,077 listings at a $2,600 overall median. Therefore, condo renters sit below the all-property median on both headline measures, which suits the commuter profile behind most “near me” searches.
Buildings cluster hard along the transit spine. For context, the for-sale side of the same feed marks the zones: Centretown and Downtown hold 113 condos at a $374,900 median asking price, Sandy Hill and Lowertown hold 175 condos at $329,000, and the Glebe and Old Ottawa South hold 84 condos at $349,900. The same buildings carry the rental inventory, so a zone search on the for-sale count doubles as a building-stock map for renters.
Moreover, renters who anchor on a single tower can miss three comparable options two blocks down the same street. As a result, a zone-by-zone search beats a single-building filter, because several buildings share a block in these clusters.
The condo search engine here takes four quick steps. First, choose the rent option in the search bar. Second, pick a zone from the neighbourhood list. Third, set bedrooms and monthly price. Finally, press Search, and the engine pulls live listings from the daily DDF feed. The feed updates daily, so the count on screen moves as new units land or existing units lease out.
Because the feed refreshes daily, a saved search beats a one-time filter. In short, renter favourites who revisit weekly see inventory they missed on the first pass.
Standard leases in Ontario run 12 months, and landlords commonly collect first and last month’s rent at signing. The Ontario government publishes the rights and duties behind every lease on its renting page. In addition, most condo corporations keep bylaws on pets, parking, and common-area rules, so the building itself adds a second layer of terms.
Condo bylaws commonly set weight limits and one-pet rules in Ontario towers. Service and assistance animals fall under a different accommodation pathway, and each building handles that route case by case. Peter’s team confirms bylaw terms for each shortlist unit before showings begin.
The October 14 report counted 316 condo rentals on the feed. The live search engine reflects the current feed, which refreshes daily as new units land.
The median sits at $2,450 per month across 160 two-bedroom listings. One-bedroom medians run $2,150 across 128 listings, and the full report carries every bracket.
Many corporations set weight limits and one-pet rules in their bylaws. Buildings handle assistance-animal requests case by case, and the bylaw check happens before a shortlist forms.
